Kinesis is derived
from the Greek word "kineo" which means "to put into motion." We strive to eliminate painful movement, strengthen muscle function, and restore desired activity level.

Thomas Peterson, PT
  • Graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine with a Bachelor Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1979.
  • Founded Kinesis Physical Therapy in 1989.
  • Member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Minnesota American Physical Therapy Association, Private Practice Section,  and Orthopedic & Sports Section
  • Emphasis on orthopedic based training in manual therapy for the spine and extremities.
  • ASTYM certified.

Sheila Christen, MPT
  • Graduated from the College of St. Catherine with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1995.
  • Received a BA in Biomedical Sciences from St. Cloud State University in 1991.
  • Member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Minnesota American Physical Therapy Association.
  • A part of Kinesis Physical Therapy since 2005.
  • Special interest in dizziness, vertigo, and balance dysfunction, and temporal mandibular joint dysfunction.
  • Emphasis on orthopedic based training in manual therapy for the spine and extremities.
  • ASTYM certified

Nancy Sokoloski, PT
  • Graduated from the College of St. Scholastica with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Therapy in 1979.
  • Member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Minnesota American Physical Therapy Association.
  • A part of Kinesis Physical Therapy since 2006.
  • Special interest in SI dysfunction
  • Emphasis on orthopedic based training in manual therapy for the spine and extremities.

Melissa McCarthy, DPT
  • Graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2011.
  • Member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Minnesota American Physical Therapy Association.
